We are in the "why?" and "how" phase...I really didnt think these questions would have started already - but then again we think Isaac is brilliant.ha ha Isaac has a million questions about everything. If we are watching TV, he is no longer content to just watch, he'll have a question every 10 seconds it seems. "Why are they doing that?" "Who is that person?" At bedtime it gets even more interesting. "What's the whole world, Papa?" How do you hold the whole world? Does God hold the whole world? Is Jesus God?
Isaac learned the 2nd verse to Jesus loves me this I know at Sunday School. "He can wash away my sins..." so now he wants to know what are sins, and how does Jesus wash them away. "Does Jesus wash away people?" Which leads him to remember about when the fire trucks were at our house and would their water wash us away, and what does the smoke detector light do? And is there fire inside that light and the questions go on and on. This boy can TALK!!! He will never run out of things to talk about if you are willing to talk to him. It also really frustrates him if he cant understand what youre saying or if we cant understand him. One night after endless questions Isaac asked Rick if he would stay with him a little while longer.
Rick said, "Sure Isaac but we are going to lay here quietly without talking , ok?"
pause...
"Papa, just go back to your bed then, ok"
I mean -- what's the point of being here if you won't talk, right?
Isaac is also a BIG cleaner. (We suspect the Spets clean gene must have snuck into the gene pool). If he sees us with a broom, he is off to find the dust pan to help. If we are wiping, he runs to get a paper towel too. He keeps cleaning even after we are DONE! Also, if Rick is outside mowing, Isaac will push his little mower for the ENTIRE time. He begs to help wash and vacuum the car, and when he vacuum the car, there really isnt any need to go over what he did. He sets the table, puts away utensils and will occasionally clean his toys. It's quite amusing to watch...and were not complaining!
Isaac used to wake up in the morning and yell into the monitor "MAMA PAPA - it's DAYTIME!! Wake up! CAN YOU HEAR MEEEEEE?" and he would keep this up until someone came to get him. Now we have put a night light in his room (for the monster elephants in the corner) so now when he wakes up he bounds out of bed and comes to find us (one lovely weekend morning at 6:15 am). He will immediately need to be changed from his "goodnight clothes" as he calls them into his "daytime" clothes.
He is getting quite impatient to see little baby Klein (arent we all). He wants to go into my belly to go visit. He wants to know why _______ doesnt come out to play with his new stroller. (We got a double stroller and Isaac is psyched to go ride in it). Isaac does the most hilarious imitations of a baby crying and seems to get the gist that _______ will not be born ready to play catch.
So that's a little snapshot of life with Isaac. By the next entry, our page will have changed names to the Isaacand________ page, so stay tuned!!Comments:Add a comment:
