What do you say when you walk outside and it is hotter than you expect? "Mama! Mama! BIG HOT! BIG HOT!" or when the spoonful of rice you are offered is too small, "NO PAPA! BIG RICE!" We have just been laughing with delight as Isaac expands his vocabulary. Another new thing is to show us every "boo boo" that he has - these can number in the dozens over the course of a day. Usually a kiss or a little lotion is enough to make the boo boo magically heal.
Then there's the "booowwwlll chuck" somehow tranlated to bulldozer or bulldozer truck. Isaac LOVES bulldozers and other construction equipment. And with all the construction going on in our town he sees many of each kind whenever he goes out. There's the mix-mix truck (cement mixer), dig-dig truck (digger/excavator), roll truck (roller) cwane (crane) and the dump truck. So many a conversation in the car sounds like
MAMA MAMA MAMA!
yes Isaac
BOOWWWL CHUCK!
I see it! Nice truck!
MAMA MAMA CHUCK!!
Good job Isaac
MAMA MAMA CHUCK!!
Yes, it's pushing dirt Isaac! Good job
MAMA MAMA MAMA MAMA!!
Yes, Isaac?
CHUCK!!!!
Isaac has also learned to count to 12 by himself. Every day when we walk down the stairs we count them, and he has mastered up to 12 by himself, and with some help can make it to 16.
He has also become the most POLITE child in the world. He has so exceeded any expectations we had when we taught him thank you and please. He understands whenever something is done for him (giving him a cookie, opening the door for him, lifting him up) and will quickly say :ANKOOO PAPA etc. Or he will ask for MIIIK PEEESE?, then ANKOOOO MAMA!! or NAEE NAEE - UP PEEESE! It's very sweet. We thank God for his sweet, pleasing nature.
Course he can throw a good tantrum when he wants. Some days, all you have to do is look at him and smile and he will run away screaming. He likes to go hide in a corner when he is mad, but then you will see him peeping out and often times you can get him to smile and come back and join us.
Can you believe our baby is almost 2? Where has the time gone. God has been so gracious when he gave us the amazing child. We are so thankful as we look forward to his second birthday and the years ahead.Comments:Add a comment:
